Why Every Man Should Go To A Barber Shop
A barber knows how to cut a man’s hair. If you’re like most men these days, you’re probably going to some unisex chain salon like Supercuts. I used to do it too. Most of the time, I’d walk out of these places with a crappy haircut. Sometimes, my haircut would look decent for the first week or so, but then it would grow out into a horrible bowl.
The problem is that many of the people who work at salons are not trained barbers. They’re cosmetologists. The difference between the two can spell the difference between a dopey-looking haircut and a great one.

I agree 100%. For me there is no other option, but to go to a trained barber. The barber relationship should last as long as you have hair and he (Yes HE not He or She, but HE)is still doing a good job.

Just got my hairs did at Mastercuts today.. in the MALL. I was getting it cut at some place full of Asian chicks before. Good thing about that was they didnt speak English so the requirement for small talk was pretty much non existent. They only thing they understood was #3, sides, back, and trim the top.
When I lived in Northern Iowa and worked for Cabela’s in Prairie du Chein, WI I went to a barber shop and I tell you what the first time he cut my hair I was freaked out because it had never been that short. Turns out the dude had been cutting hair forever and he learned in the Navy which explains the style. You could tell him anything you wanted but the cut always ended up the same: short. I grew to like it but unfortunately I moved and am once again in search of a good barber.
I do have to say though that the chick who cut my hair today did a good job, she was cute, and she kept the small talk simple enough that I didn’t spend the whole time wishing she would shut up.
